When performing tensile tests on small diameter wire, using a video extensometer, such as the
VE1, is recommended in order to achieve accurate test results.
However, the small diameter of the wire often results in difficulties finding a consistant area offering a visible contrast for the video extensometer software and test results can therefore quickly end up inaccurate.
By applying a special adhesive to the wire prior to the test, the contrast is easily observed by the
video extensometer software and the test can be carried out with correct test results.
