Preben Carøe will retire as Vice President and General Manager of AMETEK Measurement & Calibration Technologies Division (M&CT). His retirement is effective as of November 5, 2015.

Preben has been with the AMETEK group for 15 years. He is originally trained as a Marine Engineer in Maersk and over the past 30 years, he has held senior positions in sales and general management at ISS Clorius, Brüel&Kjaer and Krüger. He has been stationed in the United Kingdom and the United States and has been a board member in trade associations and subsidiaries.

Preben joined AMETEK in 2000 as Sales and Marketing Director at AMETEK Denmark A/S and in 2001, he was appointed CEO. In 2004, he was appointed Corporate Vice President and General Manager of AMETEK Test & Calibration Instruments Division. When this division merged with two other divisions in 2007, Preben was appointed Vice President and General Manager of the newly established M&CT division.

Preben has been instrumental in driving the growth and success of the AMETEK M&CT division. He oversaw impressive sales and profitable growth over the years and led the successful integration of Atlas Material Testing Technology when this company was acquired by AMETEK in 2010.

Although Preben is retiring, he will remain on the board of the AMEKAI J/V in China just as his recent appointment as Assessor at the Maritime and Commercial High Court in Denmark will help keep him busy in his retirement.
